Adult Training for Cub Scouting
- Youth Protection:
- A 64-minute video designed for the distributing of information about Youth Protection policies, such as barriers to abuse within Scouting. Contact person: District Executive, District Training Chair, Designated Assistant within the unit. Presented at most Roundtables.
- Cub Scout Leader Basic Training:
- Signup (Click Here) for Cub, Troop, Team and Venturing all in the same place and time.
--> This is fundamental training for the following leaders:
Cubmasters, Asst. Cubmasters, Tiger Cub Den Leaders, Den Leaders, Webelos Den Leaders, Pack Committee Members, Scoutmasters, Asst. Scoutmasters, Troop Committee, Crew Advisors and Committee members, Varsity Coaches and Committee members.Special groups are then broken out for Cub-specific tasks.
- BALOO = Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation:
- Cub Scout Leader specific training on doing fun and exciting outdoor programs. The camping guidelines gives Cub Scout packs the opportunity to conduct pack campout (overnight) activity, as long as the activity is conducted at a council-approved location and is under the direction of a leader in the pack trained to do so.
- Tiger Cub Organizer:
- Provides knowledge of how the Tiger cub program operates.
- Cub Scout BB-gun Camp Range Officer Class.
- Contact your District Day Camp Chair and District Chair for approval to attend. Certification
- Cub Scout Archery Camp Range Officer Class.
- Contact your District Day Camp Chair and District Chair for approval to attend. Certification will be good for two years.
- Cub Scout Archery Camp Range Officer Class.
- Contact your District Day Camp Chair and District Chair for approval to attend. Certification will be good for two years.
- Cub Scout Leader Fast Start:
- For all registered adults. Learn the basics necessary to be an asset to the unit. Fast Start provides immediate information and guidance in the objectives and resources to help new leaders do a good job.
There are five videos: Cubmaster, Pack Committee, Den Leader, Webelos Leader, Tiger Cub Coach.

- Roundtable:
- Share program ideas, gain valuable training, designed to support all levels of pack leadership. Supplemental training is provided each month on the Third Thurs. of each month. Join in the fun and fellowship while learning about the coming month's program.
- Pow Wow:
- An annual get-together of Cub Scout Leaders from the entire council. Exciting, fun-filled, informative training. All registered and any interested parents are invited to attend.
- Webelos Outdoor:
- A training session offered for Webelos Leaders that covers the outdoor section in the Webelos program.
- National Volunteer Training Center Conferences:
- Held at Philmont Scout Ranch, Cimmaron, New Mexico. Contact the District Executive for information at the Council office.
- Den Leader Coach:
- Leaders to serve as den leader coaches within their packs must attend basic training and also a one-day den leader coach training session to be considered trained for the position. Den Leader Coaches must have certain qualifications as outlined in the Cub Scout Leader Book. Bring: Cub Scout Leader Book and wear uniform

- Webelos Leader Overnight:
- Specialized training for Webelos Leaders.
- BSA Safe Swim Defense:
- Adults need this training at Roundtable before summer activities that involve water activities.
- Safety Afloat:
- Adults need this training at Roundtable before summer activities that involve water activities.
- Woodbadge:
- Cub leaders who have completed Train the Trainer, served as a trainer and have been registered for at least two years, are eligible to attend an intensive 6-day advanced training designed to train trainers. Interested adults submit their names to the District Executive/Training Chair for approval and submission to Council.
