What is ArrowCorps Five?

Registration Deadline is Febuary 1, 2008

The Amangi Nacha Lodge must submit a lodge contingent form and deposit for each participant to the National Order of the Arrow Committee. So if you plan to attend make your reservations as soon as possible because SPACE IS LIMITED.

The Order of the Arrow has had a long-standing interest in coordinating a national service project, utilizing the infrastructure and leadership established over many years of success at the Boy Scouts of America's high adventure bases. Working closely together, the United States Forest Service and the OA have chosen five project sites, spread across America, that will be the focus of our combined efforts. ArrowCorps5 (pronounced Arrow Corps Five) will provide a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for each participant to set an example of leadership in service to those who treasure our national forests.

Five thousand physically fit and able volunteers (determined by the "Philmont Weight Limits for Backpacking & Hiking"), made up of youth and adults, will participate. The national Order of the Arrow committee and key sponsors will fund the projects. Participants will pay a reasonable fee to help pay for accommodations, meals, and a full day of recreational activities during the projects.

How is Amangi Nacha Lodge Helping?

The Amangi Nacha Lodge will concentrate on sending Arrowmen to the Shasta-Trinity National Forest Service site which is located in near Mt. Shasta, California .

Arrowmen from all over the Western US will arrive at the Mt Shasta Ski park on July 12 to begin a week-long Regional activity. Our objective will be to restore a segment of the Pacific Crest Trail. Over 1,000 arrowmen will participate in the project in teams scattered at various points along the trail. We will spend 4 days backpacking while doing the restoration work. At the end we will have a day of fun before departing for home July 19th.

Only 1,000 arrowmen can register for the event. The cost is $250 per
arrowman. The cost will cover food, activities and any other items national must cover. We are responsible for our own transportation to and from Shasta Ski Park. We are also responsible for bringing our own backpacking/sleeping gear. So far over 25% of the slots have been filled. Our lodge must get its arrowmen registered as soon as possible. If you would like to participate in this event please complete the form ASAP and mail with a deposit check of $100.

The Council of Chiefs has approved the issue of a special lodge flap
for those attending the event. It may be possible that the lodge or some
chapters may also pay part of the cost for their youth to attend. If you are a youth and need financial assistance please contact your chapter advisor, or contact me if you may need help from the Lodge.

Youth members must be at least 14 years of age by June 1, 2008. Youth and adults must meet the Philmont height and weight guidelines in order to participate in ArrowCorps5. Youth members must be accompanied by an adult leader or be teamed up with other Arrowmen who have adult leadership. By February 1 the Amangi Nacha Lodge must submit a lodge contingent form and deposit for each participant to the National Order of the Arrow Committee. So if you plan to attend make your reservations as soon as possible because SPACE IS LIMITED.  If you have any questions, please contact the Amangi Nacha ArrowCorps5 Mark Woodward .
